6/17/2016 0 Comments El veranoSummer is here and the students have had a year filled with growth and success. These last few weeks have been busy with many opportunities to shine and celebrate what they have learned. They seemed to have a blast at International Night and Travel the World and did such a great job! In order to keep this momentum going I have attached some summer activities. If you would also like a hard copy of this packet, let me know (if you haven't already). Seek out any opportunities to hear, speak, read or write Spanish. Whether it is a trip to the Framingham library's Spanish books section, a Spanish story hour at the Upton library, or even a Spanish kids show, your child will benefit from the exposure. Don't forget that your child has access to IXL and Raz-kids too. Make this a part of your summer routine along with reading in Spanish and English. I also showed the kids that many Netflix shows can be played in Spanish. Just look for the audio menu and you can switch the language. This comprehensible input is a very effective and enjoyable way to improve language acquisition and prevent summer lag. Newswela.com and getepic.com are also sites where you can find Spanish reading selections for your child. Wishing you a wonderful summer!
